ParTec announces high-performance modular AI solution - collaboration with Supermicro

Munich, 13 May – ParTec AG leverages its deep understanding of large modular HPC systems like JUPITER at Forschungszentrum Jülich to design and build highly performant, modular artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for industrial and scientific use cases. ParTec launched the project “Supertrainer” to offer a modular AI product range capable of training, data-processing and inference of specific individual large language models for truly individual business cases as well as models in small, medium and large industries for training of scientific and technical models. The solution will enable extreme scalability of applications and the coupling of AI and simulation.

As ParTec always strives for best solutions the company is collaborating with Supermicro. Their SuperCluster product line provides foundational building blocks for ParTec’s innovative, scalable solutions for the rapidly evolving domain of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs) and special models for training of technical data as found i.e. in patent and scientific data bases. The rack-scale hardware modules enable faster time to productivity with reduced TCO to which ParTec will add a comprehensive software stack for modular computing as well as AI training and inferencing.

ParTec is currently conducting a study with selected customers to understand user requirements and plans to announce its product at the end of 2024.

“Multimodal generative AI systems have a huge potential to drive industrial and scientific productivity and enable new forms of products and services to customers. The technology is still in an early stage with rapidly changing and often extreme computational and data processing requirements. LLMs will quickly be supplemented by models designed to mine and train the huge amounts of data found in patent and scientific data bases. ParTec’s strong HPC background and highly adaptive technology of modular system design, used for example in JUPITER, puts us in a unique position to address the needs this new general-purpose technology that will change our daily life”, says Bernhard Frohwitter, CEO of ParTec AG.
